Slightly reminiscent of Wunderlist’s Smart Lists, if tasks aren’t complete, they won’t disappear but chill in the suggestions tab, ready to be added to one’s day. Out of all the functions available To-Do, the standout of them is ‘My Day’, which starts you off every day with a blank slate, and uses what it calls ‘Intelligent Suggestion’ which analyses your behaviour and recommends things to do based on what you prioritise. All updates on Wunderlist have stopped because the team behind it is now hard at work to include features into the new To-Do. Windows is definitely confident that they’ll win the user base back though. Meanwhile, while Microsoft To-Do is still in preview mode, fans of Wunderlist are keeping note of the fact that it offers few of the features that made Wunderlist so popular in the first place. This comes as something of a blow for the fans of the popular Wunderlist, currently standing at a 4.7/5 star rating on iTunes, and 4.5/5 on Google Playstore. In its place, Microsoft is introducing what they’re branding as Microsoft To-Do, and this has caused some stir in the community. You might prefer OneNote or Evernote which are more flexible or stick with paper and pencil.By now, if you were ever going to care about this, you probably heard that Microsoft will soon be shutting down their beloved Wunderlist app after acquiring it in 2015. List and planning apps are very much a personal choice. Try Microsoft To Do and see if you like it. What you’re looking for might only be available for MS hosted mailboxes, an important point not always mentioned. If you’re looking for a ‘missing’ feature, check the web interface. To Do as a web page has most features and options. There are limits on sharing Lists and assigning Tasks. As we’ve already noted, a Microsoft hosted mailbox is necessary to get the most from To Do. They make it seem like To Do is the same for everyone but that’s not true. Typically for Microsoft, they hide or don’t tell customers about limitations in the product. In writing this article we found too many differences and anomalies between the web interface, apps and especially Outlook for Windows/Mac. There are limitations and inconsistencies between features depending on how you’re accessing To Do and the MS account you’re using. It’s possible to migrate old Wunderlists into To Do following the prompts provided when starting with To Do. Microsoft To Do was born from the Wunderlist app which was bought in 2018. Generally better to stick with the web interface.įor Microsoft hosted mailboxes, To Do lists will appear in Outlook for Windows/Mac under ‘My Tasks’. Like most UWP apps for Windows, it doesn’t get a lot of love from Microsoft. There’s also a Windows 10/11 app for PC’s, Surface Hub and the few people left with Windows Phones. Changes to your lists will be synced automatically. Then download and install the Apple or Android To Do apps and login to the same MS account. At bottom left are the usual links to Email, Calendar, People and Files. Here we’ve logged in with an account so we’ve actually opened that mailbox and switched to the To Do pane.
